A Spanish team to create a private satellite Earth observation
The satellite will obtain useful images to monitor crops, floods and fires.
The engineering firm Deimos Imaging Spanish, in collaboration with academics from the University of Valladolid, has created the first European private company operate its own satellite for Earth observation.
The objective is to manufacture and launch a satellite into space (late 2007) to observe the area from 686 miles up and get useful images, eg for crop monitoring, or monitoring of floods and forest fires.
